Have the audacity to call Pitts a racist? What a joke that is! And how
silly you sound saying it! What do you call requiring foreign golfers to speak English? These are not cheap words on some obscure newsgroup, this is real action. Do we not forget that thiis year Inbee Park donated $50,000 to the LPGA foundation and Mi Hyun Kim made a $100,000 donation to the victums of the Greensburg, Kansas tornado victums. Maybe they should ask for their money back. And maybe when foreign nations host our players, they should demand we speak their tongue. Stupid and sad. This may not even be constitutional. No lawyer here, I believe it is not. Someone will get egg on their face when this is all over. You heard it here first! Will be a long time before I watch LPGA again. --------* RecGroups : the community-oriented newsreader : www.recgroups.com |

I think the LPGA screwed the pooch on this one. Maybe they should have gotten all the top Korean players to pose for a sexy shot with the slogan: "Girls of the LPGA: We Love You Long Time!" |

Those who try to challenge in court will likely lose. http://superperformance.com/englishonly.php http://accounting.smartpros.com/x27574.xml |

This action on the part of the LPGA is one of those that makes great headlines, but isn't nearly what everyone is making it out to be. The LPGA said that AFTER 2 YEARS, the members must be able to handle very basic interview questions, interact with pro-am partners, and work with sponsors, using english. And for those who didn't read the fine print, it is ONLY for "members". Yes, they are not employees, but none the less, it is a reasonable part of membership. The number of businesses that require similar skills, virtually to be hired at all, is hard to quantify because of the large size of the number. It may not have been "rolled out" in the most media friendly way, but it is really no sillier than making Lumpy pee in a cup to prove he isn't using performance enhancing drugs. |
